Growing up, I’d make a mad dash to the TV when it was time for professional wrestling. I was entranced by the silly gimmicks, the cutting-edge interviews by host Gordon Solie, and of course the action inside the squared circle. But as I aged and developed a more discerning eye, there was one thing I noticed. The punches and the dropkicks didn’t always seem to land, yet the wrestlers would go flying across the ring as if they were hit by a sledgehammer.I came to understand these wrestlers were just acting.
