Wilma Louise Young Cathey, 93, a McMinnville resident and Coffee County native, was born Aug. 30, 1927 and died May 24 at Willow Branch Healthcare and Rehab in McMinnville following an extended illness.

She was a retired bookkeeper with the Warren County School System, a member of the Church of Christ, and the daughter of the late Harvey Lee and Ruby Lee Freeze Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, J.N. Cathey, son Preston Cathey, sister Eloise Young Hillis, brothers-in-law Buddy, Bill, Leon, Jerry, and Richard Cathey, and sister-in-law Dot Hollis.

Mrs. Cathey is survived by brother-in-law, Don (Martha) Cathey, sisters-in-law Margaret Cathey, Dot Cathey, and Emma Cathey, all of McMinnville, several nieces and nephews, and foster son James Paige and family.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Shady Grove Cemetery in Coffee County with Bob Deason officiating. Friends are to meet at cemetery. No visitation will be held at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
