McMinnville resident and Warren County native Wilma “Joyce” McCaleb Lafever, 76, was born May 23, 1946 and died Aug. 13 at her residence following an extended illness.
Retired owner of Joyce’s Country Store and a member of the Christian faith, she was the daughter of the late Petway and Birdie Mae Anderson McCaleb. She was married Aug. 15, 2002 to Bill Lafever, who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Alferd and Joe McCaleb, sisters Oleta Sandlin, Lola McCaleb and Eleanor Simerly, and son-in-law Mike Cantrell.
Ms. Lafever is survived by daughters, Pamela Cantrell and Cindy Tramel, both of McMinnville, grandchildren Michael Burks, Cristy (Cody) Brady, Daniel Byars (Tara Abner), and Crystal (Steven) Arrington, all of McMinnville, Samantha Tramel (Josh Ribarchik) of Walling and Casey (Koressa) Cantrell of McMinnville, great-grandchildren Traeton Byars, Lexi Abner, Paislee and Delilah Brady, Bryler and Brixlynn Cantrell, Landon Fults, Damion and Dakota Ribarchik, Paige Burks and two on the way, sister Carol Davenport, brothers Paul and Calvin McCaleb, and her loving cat Gypsy.
Per Ms. Lafevers wishes, she will be cremated. Visitation was Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
