Rock Island resident and Van Buren County native William Howard Chandler, 82, was born Oct. 27, 1934 and died May 19 at his residence following a brief illness. Retired from Oster Corporation and Powermatic, a farmer, and a member of the Pentecostal Church, he was the son of the late Andrew Howard and Iva Mae McCoy Chandler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Alan Chandler.
