McMinnville resident and Warren County native Wavie Lillian Panter Stacy, 99, was born April 27, 1912 and died May 16 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro following a brief illness.
A retired nursery worker and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Myrtle Christian Panter. She was married to Richard H. Stacy, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Donnie Joe Stacy; four brothers, O.C., Jack, Dub and Aud Panter and two sisters, Jadie Clendenon and Pearl Boyd.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Frank C. and Marie Stacy of McMinnville; daughter and son-in-law, Jewell D. and Franklin Standifer of Aiken, S.C.; three grandchildren, Dean Standifer of Augusta, S.C., Ricky and Fay Stacy of Winchester, and Dondi and Gino Volz of McKinney, Texas; three great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Powers of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in High’s Chapel with Bruce Atnip officiating. Burial will follow at Center Hill Cemetery at Hills Creek. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and 8 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High’s.
