McMinnville resident and Cleveland native Violet Faye Pelham, 79, was born Aug. 30, 1933 and died Nov. 2 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville following a brief illness.A retired employee of AquaTech and member of Christian Fellowship Church, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Pearl Picklesimer Staton and was married Feb. 10, 1968 to Levi Pelham Jr., who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Gene, Raymond, Martin, Paul and Calvin Staton and sisters, Wanda May, Mildred Staton and Agnes Beaty.She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Jerry Hester of McMinnville, special adopted daughter, Kathleen Chaney and husband, Hughes of Ringgold, Va., three brothers, Douglas (Brenda) Staton of Cleveland; Bennie (Cheryl) Staton of Rossville, Ga., and Ralph (Jo) Staton of Cleveland; special sister-in-law, Jewel Staton of McMinnville, several nieces, nephews and cousins and special friends, Nickie Anderson and Kimberly Brady of McMinnville.Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in High’s Chapel with Danny Sullivan and Jarvis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Bascom Cemetery.
