Tom Verplank, 68, a McMinnville resident and Merrillville, Ind., native was born Jan. 11, 1950 and died April 2 at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. He was a retired of employee of Carrier Corporation, member of the Baptist Church, and son of the late Grover Raymond and Margaret Dorothy Danyi Verplank. Mr. Verplank was married April 12, 1980 to Peggy Talley Verplank, who survives.
