McMinnville resident and Overton County native Sally Ruth Gillentine Watson Brown, 85, was born Aug. 12, 1926 and died Dec. 4 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following a lingering illness.The retired owner/ operator of Watson's General Mercantile in Viola and member of Bonner Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Cora Christian Gillentine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Brown Watson in 1961 and Jimmy M. Brown in 1964.She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn A. Minton of McMinnville and Patricia Margo Sueno' of Honolulu, Hawaii; two sons, Fred Watson II and Carl A. Watson, both of McMinnville; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Emma Pearl Uprichard of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.Funeral service were held Tuesday at Bonner Church of Christ with Jason Gann officiating.
