Ronald B. Hill, 87, passed away at his residence Wednesday Sept. 14, 2022. He was born Sept. 3, 1935 to his parents, Marcus and Robbie Hobbs Hill, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy L. Hill; sisters, Louise Bjerke, Mary Van Horn, Anita Thomas, Sadie Russell, Ruby Wiley; brothers, Marcus Hill, Jr., Bennie Stewart, Joe Hill. Mr. Hill attended Outreach Baptist Church and worked as a saw operator in a lumber mill. He is survived by wife of 32 years, Sue Hill of Smithville; sons, Avery (Donna) Hill and Jeffery (Lisa) Hill both of McMinnville; step-daughter, Tammy Brown of Smithville; step-sons, Tracy (Tammy) Ferrell of Rock Island, and Jason (Racheal) Ferrell of Smithville; three step-grandsons, Derrick Tramel and Bradley Brown both of Smithville, and Taylor (Brittany) Ferrell of Gainesboro; one step great-granddaughter, Lilly Tramel of Celina; sister, Barbara Bloodworth of Beersheba; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jeffery Hill and Bro. Nathan Thompson officiating and burial followed in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation was Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. The family would like to say a special “Thank You,” to Alive Hospice, Megan and Dr. Dingle and her staff for the care that was shown to Mr. Hill. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
