Robert Louis Cowan Jr., 61, a Rock Island resident and Rockledge, Fla., native, was born Dec. 21, 1959 and died Jan. 27 at St. Thomas Rutherford following an extended illness.

He was a logistics manager for Atlantic Building Materials and a heavy equipment operator for A.W. Stiles. He was a member of Doyle First Baptist Church and the son of the late Robert Louis and Mary Bongartz Cowan Sr.

Mr. Cowan is survived by wife Susan Cowan of Rock Island, two sons Thomas Reeves of Florida, and Jason Foss of Lebanon, grandchildren Nora Reeves, Evan Reeves, Allison Lankford, McKenzie Lankford, Makayla Lankford, and Reagan Richardson, and two sisters and brother-in-law Pat Pascale of Florida, and Linda (Tom) Carroll of Florida.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at High’s Chapel with Tim Judd officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the chapel following the service.
