Robert (Bob) Thomas Scritchfield died after a courageous battle with cancer on December 9.

Robert (Bob) Thomas Scritchfield, 82, a McMinnville resident and Mount Morris, Pa., native, was born Oct. 10, 1934 and died after a courageous battle with cancer on Dec. 9 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, earning several medals and awards. He was a retired employee of General Motors, but worked throughout his retirement years as an all-around handyman and had his own business repairing forklifts and automobiles. He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed woodworking, sharp shooting, and was a master of all trades.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Dora (Swearingen) Scritchfield; son, Kevin Marble; and brothers, Russell, David and Archie Scritchfield.
He is survived by his wife, Beverley Scritchfield; five children and spouses, son Chris Marble of Tucson, Ariz., daughter Katherine (Earl) Eads of Memphis, son Donald (Leslie) Moffler of Morrison, and daughters Nancy Moffler (Kenneth Cox) and Patricia (Barry) Bell of McMinnville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Everett (Merri) Scritchfield and Ron (Carol) Scritchfield; three sisters, Jeannie Scritchfield, Judy Jesse and Linda Rogers; grandchildren Michael, Sean, Benjamin, Breanna, Matthew, Gregory, Kyle, Jeffery, BobbiRae, Jason, Kody, Stephen, Janel and Christopher; and numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Martha Raye Watson, 71

McMinnville resident and Coffee County native Martha Raye Watson, age 71, was born Jan. 17, 1954 and died April 2, 2025 at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro following an extended illness.

A retired caregiver and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Ethel St. John Crouch. Mrs. Watson was married December 29, 1970 to Fred B. Watson, Jr. who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Donna McCormick, Richard Crouch and Ruth Rogers.

She is survived by sons, Fred B. Watson, III and David A. Watson (Sydney Brown) both of McMinnville; daughter, Tonia L. (Carlos) Copley of McMinnville; seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sister, Ann McCormick of the Smartt Station community and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County with Wayne Cantrell to officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at High’s.
