McMinnville resident and Warren County native Reba Jo Newby, 78, was born Jan. 1, 1934 and lost her valiant battle with cancer July 13 at her residence.
A retired educator with the Warren County School System and a member of Westwood Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Lawson Irving and Ora Bryant Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James W. Hill and Haskell Hill.
She was married Aug. 1, 1952 to Bobby Newby of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Newby of McMinnville, Debbie and Trent Hall of Memphis, and Denise Newby and Richard Miller of McMinnville; nine grandchildren, John Lawson Armstrong, Heath Armstrong, Cameron Armstrong, Andrew Miller, Newby Parton, Philip Miller, Tyler Miller, Casey Miller and Alan Miller, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today in High’s Chapel with Jim Welch and Bobby Newby officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service Sunday at High’s.
