McMinnville resident and Warren County native Phillip Dwayne Martin, 57, was born Dec. 14, 1954 and died unexpectedly Nov. 7 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.A self-employed carpenter and logger and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of Beatrice Martin and the late Ivie Reece Martin Sr., of McMinnville. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brother Marvin Martin; grandparents, John W. and Margaret Martin, George W. and Mary Landford Hillis.He was married July 28, 1972 to Evelyn Carol (Turner) Martin of McMinnville. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two children and their spouses, Kristy and Ronald Clendenon, Dustin and Brandy Martin, all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Chelsey and Wesley Clendenon and Trenton Martin, all of McMinnville; brothers and sister-in-law, Perry and Suzanne Martin and Reece Martin of McMinnville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harry and Diane Grissom, Gary and Gail Dodson, and Bud Turner, all of McMinnville; 13 nieces and nephews, Thomas, Darick, Timothy and Jerry Martin, Tanaya Stalcup, Rebecca Martin, Shawn Grissom, Jeremie Turner, Kelly Cooke, Karissa Hale, Amber Dodson and Josh Smith, all of McMinnville, and Shayna Green of Beersheba Springs; special aunt, Vera Osborne of Taft and uncle, Willis Martin of Maryville; and several cousins.A memorial service will be held at a later date.
