Philemon Atlas Clemons, 74, of McMinnville died Monday, Aug. 19, at Christian Care Center of Rutherford County in Smyrna.
He was born Dec. 3, 1938, in Warren County, was a truck driver, served his country with the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of Jesus Name Pentecostal Church. Mr. Clemons was preceded in death by parents, Robert William and Mary Lydia Lucille Delong Clemons and brothers Floyd Iziar Clemons, Alex Clemons, Earl Clemons, and Robert Clemons.
Survivors include daughter Pat Razo-Cardozo; grandchildren, Frederick, Kevan and wife Johanna, Emelio, and Tiffany; sister, Barbara Nell Clemons; halfsister Paulette Clemons; halfbrother, Jerry Wayne Clemons, nieces Roxanne Redmon, Sandra Carter, Samantha Leyva, and Beth Clemons; nephews, Bobby Clemons, Bart Clemons, and Bret Clemons, other family members and friends.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Robert Burns will officiate. Interment will follow at New Union Cemetery in DeKalb County. Military grave rites will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. The Clemons family will receive friends Wednesday from 8 to 10 a.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.mcminnvillefuneralhome.com.
