Paul Henry Otto Bernhardt, 79, of McMinnville died Saturday, Oct. 11 at River Park Hospital.
He was born Aug. 28, 1935, in Alma, Wis., and was a graduate of Kansas State University, a retired quality control engineer with Whirlpool, an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, secretary with the local Kiwanis Club, and a former Boy Scout leader. Mr. Bernhardt was preceded in death by parents, Rev. Otto and Esther Passow Bernhardt; stepmother, Thekla Bernhardt; granddaughter, Emma Katherine Bernhardt; and brother-in-law Paul Thompson.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years Linda Leila Thompson Bernhardt of McMinnville; children, Daniel (Tami) Bernhardt of Evans, Ga., Steven (Carolyn) Bernhardt, Robert (Amanda) Bernhardt, Jeffrey Bernhardt, and Andrew (Lesley) Bernhardt, all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Kalley, Ethan, Hunter, Lukas, and Eadey Bernhardt, and Zane and Carrie Maxwell, all of McMinnville; brother, David (Marge) Bernhardt of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister, Ruth (Bill) Wood of Portales, N.M., and sister-in-law Virginia Newby of Providence, R.I.; six nieces, one nephew, family members, and friends.
Funeral service was held Tuesday in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Lorin Pedigo officiated. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 200 Chapel Drive, McMinnville, TNĀ 37110.
