Nellie Starkey, 95, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native, died Dec. 14 at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital following a brief illness. She was a homemaker, member of Smyrna Church of Christ, and daughter of the late Noah Howard Byron and Rena Catherine Jarrels Keel.Mrs. Starkey was married June 29, 1956 to Alford Bales “Hoot” Starkey, who preceded her in death March 11, 2013. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Herbert Starkey; sister, Isabell Keel Bouldin and brothers, Joe, Harry, Lex and Charles Keel.
