McMinnville resident and Cannon County native Morris Wayne Walker, 64, was born Sept. 10, 1948 and died June 16 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness.A nursery worker and member of New Home Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Morris and Gladys Juanita Jones Walker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Michael Walker.Mr. Walker was married to Joyce Sandlin Walker of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lea Ann and Tim Stone of Murfreesboro; son, Johnny Walker of McMinnville; grandson, Matt Newman of Rock Island; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Donna Walker of Morrison; sister, Betty Walker of Coffee County, and several nieces and nephews.A graveside service was held Tuesday, June 18 at Oak Grove Cemetery with Lash Rice officiating.High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.Southern Standard (McMinnville, Tenn.)
