Morris Anthony Templeton, 67

Rock Island resident and Fort Knox, Ky., native, Morris Anthony Templeton, 67, was born Aug. 5, 1949 and died May 16 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville following a five-month battle with cancer.
An employee of Bridgestone and a member of Christ Community Church, he was married May 5, 1978 to Jimmie Austin Templeton of Rock Island. He was a devoted husband and father.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children and spouses, Toni Renee Templeton Brown of Smithville, Jennifer and Chad Glasener of Manchester, Terri and Jr. Bonner of Castalian Springs, and Candace Yott of Destin; eight grandchildren, James-Anthony Brown, Trey Hobbs, Jessica, Ashley and Heather Tobitt, and Justin, Taylor and Anna Yott; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and church family; and special friends, Terry and Glenda Stiles.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 19 at High’s Chapel with Paul Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Webb Cemetery at Bluff Springs. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at High’s. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
