Mazel Pendergraph Bryant, 89, a lifelong resident of McMinnville, died on Monday, Sept. 30, with her daughter, Deborah Zemenick, at her side.
She is survived by her husband Bertram Walker Bryant, her daughter Deborah (Carl) Zemenick, grandchildren Bert Thurston, Sarah (Joseph) Starkey and Zachary (Izabel) Zemenick, great-grandchildren Mariah Vu and Derek Starkey, sisters Joyce Pinegar and Irene (Clinton) Butcher and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mazel was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Harold Pendergraph, her parents George Franklin Duncan and Bertha Luann Emery Duncan; and 12 of her 14 siblings: Oliver Duncan, Ira Duncan, Louis Duncan, George Duncan, Leslie Duncan, Lola Hall, Al Duncan, J.D. Duncan, Estelle Blair, Lorene Stewart, Mary Sue Harper and Drucilla Anderson.
Mazel was a faithful member of the McMinnville Seventh Day Adventist Church since the age of 16. Her church, her family, and gardening were her greatest loves. While we grieve her loss, we are comforted by the joy of loving and being loved by this special person.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Faulkner Springs Christian School at 215 Bluff Springs Road in McMinnville, Tennessee.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Dennis Clark will officiate. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
