Marlin LeVaughn Binkley, 71, of Spencer died Sunday, Dec. 11 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
He was born in Spencer on April 1, 1940, the son of the late Lawrence (Buck) and Alova (Beach) Binkley. He was self employed as a real estate developer.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Hale) Baker of Spencer; daughter, Kimberly Hillis of Sparta; son, Trence Baker and wife Susan of Acworth, Ga.; sister, Colleen Quick and husband Mack of Nashville; sister-in-law, Melba and Monroe Mooneyham of Spencer; granddaughters, DeVon Hillis Smith and husband Jeff of Baxter; Madison Baker of Acworth, Ga.; grandson, Parker Baker of Acworth, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Aubree Owen of Baxter, Jackson Smith of Baxter; nieces, Datheny Quick, Roxanne Simpkins and husband Ronald, both of Nashville. Many friends and other family members also survive.
In addition to his parents LeVaughn is also preceded in death by a twin daughter; Simone Binkley and grandson, Kaleb Hillis.
Funeral service will be held at Spencer Funeral Home at 2 p.m. today with Gene Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Walling Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Spencer Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to fund a scholarship in LeVaughn’s name to go to an outstanding senior at Van Buren County High School. The money can be given to the funeral home for the scholarship fund.
