Margaret Jean Sparkman, 60, a McMinnville resident and Goshen, Ind., native died Jan. 6 in Saint Thomas River Park Hospital following a brief illness.
She was a motor home painter, member of First Baptist Church and daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Garner Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by stepson Kenneth Dale Sparkman Jr., and brother Charles Collins III.
Mrs. Sparkman was married October 6, 1975 to Kenneth Dale Sparkman, who survives. She is also survived by stepchildren, Yalta Faye (Glenn) Gay, Wendy Walsh and Christopher Sparkman, all of McMinnville, William Eugene Sparkman of Woodbury, Diana Coburn of South Bend, Ind., and William White of Elkhart, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Nancy Shea of Salt Lake City, Utah and Penny (John) Cupery and Donna Curtis, both of Elkhart; brothers Larry Collins of Phoenix, Ariz., Floyd Collins of Stoughten, Ill., and James (Sandy) Collins of Statesville, N.C.; and brother-in-law Wade (Violet) Sparkman of McMinnville.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in High’s Chapel with Titus Ward to officiate. Interment will follow at Brick House Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. Saturday until time of service at High’s.
