Leland C. “L.C.” Kell, 87, a resident of the Sparkman Community and Van Buren County native was born Oct. 31, 1930 and died April 15 at NHC Healthcare of Sparta following an extended illness. He was a United States Navy veteran of Korea, self-employed farmer, member of the Baptist Church and son of the late John Bates and Tera Mary Johnson Kell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Rebecca Sparkman Kell and siblings, Merle Kell, Ernistina Kell, Brownie Kell, Wayne P. Kell and Billy C. Kell.
