McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Katy Ganell Rogers Mixon, 94, was born Sept. 8, 1919 and died quietly at her daughter’s home in McMinnville on Oct. 6.A retired employee of Century-Magnetek, a member of Madison Street Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star, she was the daughter of the late Woody Benton and Georgie Cecil Kell Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Velma Rogers and Karl and Edna Rogers; sister-in-law, Violet Rogers; and granddaughter, Lori Ann Day.She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Georgie and Roger Day of McMinnville and Pat and Larry Dennis of McMinnville; three grandchildren and their spouses, Jacqui and Eric Milstead, Kristina and Alan Smith, and Chad and Renea Jones, all of McMinnville; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Benton Rogers of Spencer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral service was held Tuesday, Oct. 8 in High’s Chapel with Carl Smith and Bobby Southard officiating.
