Mrs. Judith (Judy) Kemp Underhill, 75, of Fairfax, Va., formerly of Cookeville, died Thursday, March 1, peacefully at home in the presence of family after a long illness.

She was born May 17, 1942 in New York, N.Y., to the late Edward Kenneth Kemp Sr. and Helen Kosunen Kemp. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in Florida for 20 years and Georgia for an additional 18. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Cookeville, and in Ft. Pierce, Fla. She was an avid bowler and reader, loved to travel, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was of the Protestant faith.

Mrs. Underhill was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby (Bob) Joe Underhill (whom she married in Tallahassee, Fla., on June 15, 1963). She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kyla Ann and Bart Aimone of Fairfax, Va.; two granddaughters, Annabelle and Lillian; one grandson, Daniel; her brother and sister-in-law, Edward Kenneth (Ken) Kemp Jr. of Rincon, Ga., and Dale Kemp of Guyton, Ga.; two brothers-in-law, Bratton and Odell Underhill of McMinnville, and Eugene and Julianna Underhill of Bethalto, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sycamore Cemetery. The Underhill family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
