Josie Eldridge Green Boyd, 90

McMinnville resident and DeKalb County native Josie Eldridge Green Boyd, 90, was born March 23, 1923 and died Nov. 7 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness.
A retired hostess with ARA and a member of East End Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Bryan and Susie Rankhorn Green. She was married to Lawery Dwain Boyd, who preceded her in death March 8, 1989. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James C. Green, who died at D-Day, and J.D. Green; and great-grandson, Aiden Wrisner.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda C. and Hugh B. Hillis of Bone Cave and Gretchen and Gene Rhea of McMinnville; four grandchildren and spouses, Lucretia and Jamie Brown, Chastity and Aaron Wrisner, and Justin and Tera Rhea, all of McMinnville, and Ritchey and Camilla Rhea of Bone Cave; six great-grandchildren, Kayla Brown, J.J. Brown, Ali Brooke Wrisner, Will Wrisner, Drew Wrisner and KeyLe Rhea; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Clayton Adcock of Smithville, and Janice and Harris Haley of McMinnville; special friends, Evelyn Travis and family and Kathy Reedy; three sisters-in-law, Winona Powers of McMinnville and Bonita Markum and husband Howard of Nashville, and Ann Green of Clarksville; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in High’s Chapel with James Boyd and Kevin Key officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Sunday at High’s.
Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels.

Thomas Norman Theiss, Sr., 77

Thomas Norman Theiss, Sr. was born May 24, 1947 and went home to be with Jesus on Friday afternoon, March 28, 2025. He was born and lived in Michigan for 45 years and then moved to McMinnville, Tennessee for the last 32 years.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Donald and Caroline Filipowski Theiss; brother, Donald Theiss and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Eula Presley.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 51 years, Glenda Marie Presley Theiss; children, Susan (Mark) Long, Brandy Perez, Cindy Hale, Gwendolyn (Richard) Holt, Tammy Norma Theiss, and Tommy Norman Theiss, Jr.; grandchildren, Sean, Gabriel, Jaylen, Gavin, Tommy Ray, Hannah, and Diane; great-granddaughters, Lea and Luci; sisters, Cheryl (Butch) Galyon, Lorry Cantrell, Debra Prokoff; brother, Larry (Carolyn) Theiss; many sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, serving the Lord as well as playing games with the children, cooking and eating wild meat. He really enjoyed his church family at Peoples Pentecostal Church, where he faithfully attended.

Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Peoples Pentecostal Church with his pastor, Michael Hewell and Jay Young officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday 2 p.m. until 7 p.m., Monday 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Tuesday 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. al visitation at Peoples Pentecostal Church.
