Morrison resident and Van Buren County native J.L. “Jaybird” Greene, 68, died Oct. 26 at NHC Healthcare after an extended illness.A livestock dealer and a member of Barren Fork Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Charlie and Lillie Martin Greene; and was preceded in death by sisters, Leotta Cantrell and Peggy Turner; and brothers, C.L. Greene and Pete Greene.He is survived by his wife, Teddie Fuston Greene; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Irving Davis of McMinnville; sons, Glenn, Luke and Seth Greene, all of Morrison; brothers and sister-in-law, John and Robin Greene of Ohio, David and Dian Greene of McMinnville; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Pack of Smithville, Margaret and Russell Norton of Smithville; grandchildren, Holly, Justin, Jaylon and Aleah; and three great-grandchildren.Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at High’s Chapel with Dave Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery at Barren Fork. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at High’s.
