McMinnville resident and Davidson County native Jewel Dean Jackson Reed, 71, was born Nov. 15, 1940 and died June 7 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness. A homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Jewel Douglas and Roberta Mae Cantrell Jackson.She was married Nov. 22, 1958 to Eddie L. Reed Sr., of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie L. “Buddy” and Mary Reed of McMinnville; two daughters and son-in-law, Donna McBride of McMinnville and Debbie and Brian Mathis of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Eddie L. Reed III, Benjamin West Reed, Joshua McBride, Chase Mathis and Hunter Mathis; two great-grandchildren, Savanah Carvalho and Hudson Mathis; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Donald Costello of Virginia, and Patricia and Duane Redic of Virginia; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert Douglas and Paula Campbell of Nebraska; several nieces and nephews; special uncle and aunt, Joe Tom and Mary Cantrell of McMinnville; and special friend, Betty Dixon of McMinnville.
