McMinnville resident and Big Auger, West Virginia native Janet Rae Murray Chisam, 86, was born Aug. 11, 1935 and died Sept. 14 at her residence following an extended illness.      

A retired factory worker from DeZurik and a member of the Baptist church, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie Rose. She was married to Robert Chisam, who preceded her in death in 2014.

Mrs. Chisam is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Elmer Davidson of Jonesborough, granddaughter Sheri Davidson (Tim Doll) of Berwind, West Virginia, sister Bettie Short of Springfield, Va., and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at High’s Chapel with Darryl Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Old Bybee Chapel Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Thursday from 12 p.m. until time of service at High’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
