James Willard Myers, 86, of Morrison died Thursday, April 25 at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
He was born Sept. 2, 1926 in Warren County and was a retired carpenter, truck driver, World War II U.S. Army veteran, and a Baptist. Mr. Myers was preceded in death by parents, Emmitt and Maggie Earls Myers; first wife, Lola Geneva Southard Myers; second wife, Nova June McMahan Myers; son, Jimmy Myers; brother, Bernice (Bud) Myers; and half-sister Margaret.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Lonnie Taylor of Morrison; stepdaughter and husband Denise and Marsh Bowdoin of McMinnville; three grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, six great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren, halfsisters Betty and Sue, and halfbrother, Aubrey Myers.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Sunday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bobby Vickers will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Military grave rites will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. The Myers family will receive friends Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again Sunday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
