McMinnville resident and Warren County native James Michael Durham, 70, was born January 2, 1952 and died Oct. 2, 2022 at Willow Branch Health & Rehabilitation in McMinnville following an extended illness.
A retired court officer of 34 years from McMinnville Police Department and member of Shellsford Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Herman and Fannie Mae Marshall Durham. He was married to Linda Barnes Durham of McMinnville on Aug. 2, 1991. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Deanie Durham and Donna Durham; and brother, Terry Durham.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Durham is survived by three children, Candy (Brandon) Locke of McMinnville, Brandon (Sarah) Durham of Kenbridge, Va. and Lynn (Steve) Cope of Spencer; grandchildren, Cassie (John D.) Hodge, Freddie Martin, Amanda (Eric) Esparza, Grant Blankenship, Bella Blankenship, Mason, Nicholas, Deacon Durham, Tyler, Bryan and Nevaeh; great-grandchildren, Libby, Antha Lynn, Laura Hodge, Keeli, Gavin and Kylie Esparza; niece, Tracy (Jody) Panter of McMinnville; and special friends, Joe Melton, Kevin Woodlee and Ricky Yates.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, in High’s Chapel with Jackie Matheny officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Saturday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
