J. Clarence DeWeese Sr., 88, of Donelson died Oct. 22.
A recipient of two Purple Heart awards and a Bronze Star during World War II, he was held as a prisoner of war.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce DeWeese and son, Harold DeWeese.
He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Fuller and Carol Trask; son, Jimmy (Bertha) DeWeese; special grandson, Billy Trask; grandchildren, Regina Judkins, Scott Fuller, Lisa Trask and Becky Webster; brother, George DeWeese; sister-in-law, Macon Todd; five great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home in Nashville with Tom Boyette officiating. A military burial will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held Friday, one hour prior to the service.
