Helen Ferrell, 70, of McMinnville, formerly of Woodbury, died Oct. 7.
She was born Aug. 21, 1944 in Woodbury. Her parents were the late William “Bill” Jessie Davis and Ida Pearl (Underwood) Davis. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Mathis; sister, Wanda Patrick and halfbrother, Arvil Mooneyham.
She is survived by son Jeff Waggoner of Smithville; daughter Sharon Higgins of Nashville; sisters Thelma Hibdon Womack and Margie Walls, both of Woodbury; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and special friend Lee Moody.
Mrs. Ferrell was a member of the Methodist Church. She was a former employee of Val Dor in Woodbury, Spartan in Smithville, and Bridgestone Tire. Mrs. Helen had a good sense of humor. She liked to cut up and have fun, but she would also tell you what she thought. People knew her to have a big heart. She loved her kids, grandkids and especially her great grandkids and made sure to spoil them every chance she had. She was a fan of the Titans and would hardly ever miss watching a game.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Thursday and Friday. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Lee Moody will officiate. Interment will follow at Center Hill Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.smithfuneralhomewoodbury.net.
