Hazel Amanda Moffitt, 88, of Spencer died Friday, March 1 at Raintree Manor Nursing Center in McMinnville.
She was born April 9, 1924 in Grundy County and was a homemaker and a member of Piney Church of Christ. Mrs. Moffitt was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Smith Walling and Sarah Elizabeth Barker Walling; her husband, Willard Howell Moffitt; her sisters, Sara Ruth Walling and Dola Mildred Pettit; and her brothers, Mal Chester Walling, James Gilliam Walling, William Hal Walling, and Lawrence E. Walling.
Survivors include her children, Joe (Deborah) Moffitt of McMinnville, Opal (Joe) Crosby of Spencer, Hal (Brenda) Moffitt of Cushing, Okla., Glenn Moffitt, and Jennifer Cope, both of Spencer; good friend and senior companion, Deltrice Howard of Spencer; 11 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, as well as a host of great-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Church of Christ. Bro. Royce Farris will officiate. Interment will follow at Seitz Cemetery. The Moffitt family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 9 p.m., and again Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Church of Christ, 5544 Old State Hwy 111, Spencer, TN 38585.
