McMinnville resident and Warren County native Harvena Gunning, 85, was born Aug. 6, 1926 and died April 18 at her residence following an extended illness.
A hairdresser and member of Fall City Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Elizabeth McCormick Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis Faye Bryant, and great-grandson, Mickey Bryant.
She was married Sept. 20, 1970 to Arthur L. Gunning of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two stepsons, Steven Richard Gunning of Clarksville and Michael Gunning and wife Lisa of Rock Island; grandson, Bobby Arnold and wife Pam of Murfreesboro; two sisters, Dean Christian of Nashville and Juanita Adams and husband Wilbur of Gallatin; great-niece, Debbie Slocumbe and husband Chuck, and great-grand-niece, Elizabeth Lewis.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. View Cemetery with Joey Spicer officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at High's.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
