George Leaton Medley, 63

George Leaton Medley, 63, a McMinnville resident, was born Sept. 17, 1949 and died Nov. 23 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville following a brief illness. He was a United States Army veteran having served in Vietnam.
He was the son of the late Noah and Mary Lou Scott Medley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Horace and Avery Medley; two half-brothers, Royce and Charlie Medley, and one half-sister Velva Lea Forsyth.
He was married to Diane Norton Medley of McMinnville, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son Noah Medley of McMinnville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dalton and Betty Medley of Bonaire, Ga., and Lonnie and Deb Medley of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Webb of McMinnville; brother-in-law, Terry Webb of McMinnville, and two nephews, Richie and Joseph Webb.
Funeral service was held Tuesday in High’s Chapel with Coy Hathcock officiating. Burial followed at Hillsboro Cemetery in Coffee County with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion post 173. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist with funeral expenses.
High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
