Rock Island resident and Warren County native Gail Ann Elrod, 63, was born July 28, 1949 and died Sept. 23 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville following an extended illness. A hairdresser and member of Spirit of Life Church, she was the daughter of the late Lyle Jackson and Maggie Lorena Delong Cotten. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Cotten and nephew, Jerry Pearsall.
