Fronie Hennessee, 96, a Spencer resident and Bledsoe County native, died Aug. 19 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness. She was a retired employee of Cumberland Manufacturing Company, member of the Church of Christ and daughter of the late Joshua Jahue and Eliza Turner Johnson.She was married Dec. 26, 1935 to Thurman Hennessee, who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Geraldine Hennessee; three brothers, Bob, Gaither and Brown Johnson; three sisters, Emma, Lizzie and Geneva and great-granddaughter, Chelsie Smith.Mrs. Hennessee is survived by two daughters, Ruth Smith of McMinnville and Barbara Stiles of Spencer; four grandsons, “Doc” Smith, Allen Smith and Tommy (Christie) Stiles of McMinnville and Tony (Velma) Stiles of Rock Island; five great-grandchildren, Amanda, Lee, Kathryn, Caroline and Cody; two great-great-grandchildren, Eli and Isaac.Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at High’s Chapel with Gene Brock and Bob McCoy to officiate.
