Evelyn Collins, 79, of the Skymont community died Tuesday Oct. 30 at her home.
She was a member of Air View Baptist Church. She was born in Cleveland Jan. 30, 1933 to Henry and Mae Messer Miller, who preceded her in death along with her husband, William R. Collins; son, Kevin Collins; brother, Ralph Miller; sisters, Thelma Hooper, Lillard Stewart, Louetta McKenzie, Cecil Hampton, Opal Hixson and Dean Rymer.
She is survived by her daughters, Joy (Wayne) Trim of Sevierville, Robin (Archie) Campbell of Shelbyville; sons, Ricky (Patsy) McGinnis of Coalmont, and Darryl Collins and fiance' Alli Garr of McMinnville; sisters, Alvada (Kenneth) Rymer, Joyce (Douglas) Hobbs of Altamont and Lois Winton of Guntersville, Ala.; grandchildren, Christie (Bradley) Layne, Misty and Sierra Campbell and Hayden Garr; great-grandchildren, Eric, Jennifer and Levi Campbell, Desiray and Kirsten Layne; and a host of loving nieces and nephews; and special friend David Hall.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Layne Funeral Home chapel with ministers Melvin Childers and Neal Foster officiating with burial to follow at Air View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, www.laynefuneralhome.com.
