Eugene Scott “Scotty” Nelson, 56, of McMinnville died Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro.
He was born Oct. 24, 1960, in Painesville, Ohio, was a former employee of both ARA Food Service and Dunn Steel, was the owner of Scott’s Lawn Care, a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, founding member of Visual Impact Truck Club, Ezel Masonic Lodge No. 381, and a life-long UT fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby H. and Gail Fann Nelson.
Survivors include daughter Sara Nelson (Jeremy Smith), son Matthew Harris, grandchild Vincent Smith, brother Chris Nelson, uncle Bill (Pat) Nelson, aunts Pam (Gentry) Mathis, Lynda (Larry) Manwaring, and Connie (John) Boy, and a special friend Tina Wilkins Stewart. Other family members and many friends also survive.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Chris Nelson and Robert Horton will officiate. Interment will follow at Rockliff Cemetery. The Nelson family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
