Mrs. Eliza Louise Boyd, 76, of Spencer died Sunday, May 15 at her residence.
She was born in Spencer on Oct. 3, 1934, the daughter of the late Floyd and Eula (Hillis) Yates.
She was a graduate of Van Buren County High School and Pat’s Beauty School in McMinnville. She was a factory worker for seven years and later became the owner/ operator of her own beauty shop and retired after 46 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by a baby brother, Charles Lester Yates.
She is survived by devoted husband of 59 years Clifton Boyd of Spencer, three sons Davey Boyd and wife Margaret of Spencer, Bert Boyd of Crossville, Jodi Boyd of Smithville; daughter Vivian Boyd Sparkman and husband Gary of Sparta, two granddaughters Mallori Mackenzi Sparkman and fiancé Nathan Aaron of Sparta, Jana Rhea Asberry of Crossville, special caregiver Jewel Hennessee of Rocky River, sister Roberta Shelley of Spencer, aunt Mildred Simmons of Spencer, two brothers-in-law Ausbon Boyd and wife Carolyn of Spencer, Teddy Boyd and wife Olivia of McMinnville, several cousins, nieces, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at Spencer Funeral Home at 1 p.m. today with Gene Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Spencer Town Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Spencer Funeral Home. To sign the online guestbook, visit www.spencerfuneralhome.net.
