Eleanor E. McCaleb Simerly, 77, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native, was born Nov. 11, 1941 and passed away Sept. 20 at her residence following an extended illness.
She was a retired home health nurse, a member of the Baptist church, and daughter of the late Petway McCaleb and Birdie Mae Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son Kenneth Cunningham, sisters Lola McCaleb and Oleta Sandlin, brothers Joe McCaleb and Alfred McCaleb.
Mrs. Simerly was married June 5, 1985 to Wayne Simerly, who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Myron Cunningham of McMinnville and Stephen Cunningham of North Carolina, daughters Angela Cunningham of McMinnville, and Chasity L. (Norman McBride) Simerly of McMinnville, stepchildren Christine Simerly Moffitt of McMinnville, Matthew (Wendy) Simerly of Florida and Christopher Simerly of McMinnville, grandchildren Travis (Rachel) Cantrell of McMinnville, Frankie Montarello of McMinnville and Stephanie Cunningham of Colorado; nine step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brother Calvin (Diane) McCaleb of McMinnville, and sister Carol Davenport of Florida.
Graveside service and interment will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. View Cemetery with Rex Boles officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 12 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
