Elaine Locke Nelson, 77, of Manchester died Monday, Aug. 13, at Harton Regional Medical Center. 
She was born in Crab Orchard to the late R.H. Locke and Ethel Yates Locke. She is survived by four children; Walter Stephen Hillis, Karla Hillis, Phaedra Hillis Lancaster (Terry), and Earl H. Hillis (Christy); 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 
She was employed by The Tullahoma News for many years and also worked for the New York Times Group and ran a successful freelance advertising business.
A celebration of her life will be held Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. at Manchester Convention Center.
