Edith L. Taylor, 87, of McMinnville died Wednesday, Aug. 1 at Raintree Manor after an extended illness.She was born in McMinnville Oct. 8, 1924, the daughter of the late Emma N. (Grissom) and Bertha O. Hennessee.She was a member of Westside Southern Baptist Church in McMinnville and was a homemaker.She is survived by two daughters, Joyce E., and husband Albert Carter, of McMinnville, Bobbie S., and husband Paul Crawford, of Knoxville; five sons Robert C., and wife Clayta Taylor of McMinnville, Gary L., and wife Linda Taylor of Rock Island, Kenny W., and wife Shirley Taylor of McMinnville, Willard (Clayton), and wife Dawn Taylor of McMinnville, Steve M., and wife Deborah Taylor of LaVergne; 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester W. Taylor, and two grandchildren.Family will receive friends from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, the time of the service, at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home. Danny Barnes will officiate.
