McMinnville resident and Hollywood, Ala., native Eddie Grayson, 76, was born January 20, 1942 and died May 12, 2018 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness.
Retired from DeZurik Corporation and a United States Army veteran of Vietnam, he was the son of the late Ally G. and Wilma E. Trimew Grayson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Grayson, Ally G. Grayson Jr., and Carl Lee Grayson; and granddaughter Amber Grayson.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie G. and Demetrist Grayson Jr. of Augusta, Ga., and Keith A. and Shawanda Grayson of McMinnville; daughter and son-in-law, Christal M. and Maurice Garner of Memphis; two brothers, David Grayson of Chattanooga, and Ray Grayson of Scottsboro, Ala.; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Ada Austin and Gladys Blair, both of Hollywood, Ala., Clara and Hollis Clay, Ruby Fennell, and Forestine and Wallace Johnson, all of Scottsboro, Ala.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at High’s Chapel with pastor Eddie Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at High’s. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
