Earl McCarty, 61, a McMinnville resident and Kentucky native, died Oct. 1 in Vanderbilt University Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was a retired machinist with the TVA and member of Pioneer Community Church. He was preceded in death by nephews, Gregory Graham and Tyler Graham; father-in-law, Charles Cagle; and brother-in-law, Tony Luna.
Mr. McCarty was married Sept. 16, 1994 to Tammy Luna McCarty, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children and spouses, Mike and April McCarty of McMinnville, and Maritta McCarty and Gloria Simon of Woodbury; two grandchildren, Kassie McCarty of McMinnville and Natalya McCarty of Smithville; father-in-law Leonard Luna of McMinnville; mother-in-law Linda Cagle of McMinnville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Tina and Scott Thomas, and Terri and Howard Templeton, all of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at High’s Chapel with Jon Ballard to officiate. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and 10 a.m. Monday until time of service at High’s.
