E. Louis Madewell, 72

McMinnville resident and White County native E. Louis Madewell, 72, was born Aug. 23, 1942 and died suddenly April 21 at DeKalb Community Hospital in Smithville due to an automobile accident.
Mr. Madewell was an employee of B&G Supply in Smithville for 47 years, a member of the Warren County Lions Club, and a Christian who worshiped with the congregation at Westwood Church of Christ in McMinnville. He enjoyed being with his family and many friends, enjoyed mowing the lawn, woodworking, and always helping others.
He was the son of the late Gilbert and Georgie McCormack Madewell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy Madewell Roddy and Richard; brother and sister-in-law, Milton Madewell and Edith; brothers-in-law, Charles H. “Chuck” Priest and Ward Priest.
He was married Jan. 31, 1964 to Anne Priest Madewell of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Louanne Madewell Boggs and Keith of McMinnville; four granddaughters, Tori and Emilee Boggs, both of McMinnville, and Stephanie and Alexia Boggs, both of Madison, Ala.; grandson, Adam Bouldin and wife Samantha of Murfreesboro; granddaughter, Kristin Bouldin of Greenville, S.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda Fay Madewell Sharpe and Garry of Groveland, Fla.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Hugh Stubblefield of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Jean Priest of McMinnville; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special brothers, Sammy Walker and Carl McCormack, both of McMinnville; and special family, Keith and Kathy Bouldin of McMinnville.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at High’s Chapel with Coy Hathcock officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday at High’s.
Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, the Warren County Lions Club or Warren County Relay for Life.

Martha Raye Watson, 71

McMinnville resident and Coffee County native Martha Raye Watson, age 71, was born Jan. 17, 1954 and died April 2, 2025 at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro following an extended illness.

A retired caregiver and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Ethel St. John Crouch. Mrs. Watson was married December 29, 1970 to Fred B. Watson, Jr. who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Donna McCormick, Richard Crouch and Ruth Rogers.

She is survived by sons, Fred B. Watson, III and David A. Watson (Sydney Brown) both of McMinnville; daughter, Tonia L. (Carlos) Copley of McMinnville; seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sister, Ann McCormick of the Smartt Station community and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County with Wayne Cantrell to officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at High’s.
