Dwight David Robinson, 80, of McMinnville passed from this life on Sunday, July 13, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.
He was born Sunday, Dec. 31, 1933, in Doeville and was the son of the late Callie Robinson.
He is survived by his wife Geneva Walsh Robinson; daughter, Alberta Robinson, and an uncle Dallas Robinson. He was an avid sports fan and a loyal supporter of U.T., Titans, and loved professional wrestling. He was a creative thinker and inventor, and used these skills to make life easier for his family. He attended Tennessee School for the Deaf and retired after 33 years at McMinnville Garment and 12 years at the Warren County School System. He was a member of the Smartt Baptist Church and remained actively involved there until his health declined.
He was a good man, loved his family beyond measure, and was a devoted father and husband.
His sparkling personality left a wake of joy and laughter wherever he went. His quick wit and kind heart touched many lives. He will be sorely missed.
Memorials may be made to Alive hospice at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19 at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home.
