Dorothy Elizabeth Snodgrass died May 8 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.

McMinnville resident and Montgomery County native Dorothy Elizabeth “Dot” Snodgrass, 96, was born April 2, 1921 and died May 8 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville following a sudden illness.
A homemaker, member of Gath Baptist Church, and member of The Order of The Eastern Star McMinnville Chapter 349 for 66 years, she was the daughter of the late Lawyer and Irene Capshaw. She was married on March 13, 1941 to Paul Jerry Snodgrass, who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1997. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son-in-law, Patrick Riley; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Geneva Stevens; and sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and E.H. Harmon.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Myrna and Chuck Wickard of Lenoir City, Linda and Wayne Koelling of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Pamela J. and Miles Wilson of McMinnville; nine grandchildren and spouses, Ryan Mason, Blaine Wilson and Evan Wilson, all of McMinnville, Bethany and Michael McCann of Boston, Mass.; Brian Koelling, Jesse and Julie Koelling, and Jerry and Melissa Koelling, all of Cincinnati, Ohio, Tami Riley of Knoxville, and Tina Feininger of Atlanta, Ga.; 17 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Philip Weimer of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 12, at Gath Baptist Church with Rick Stewart and Ray Gilder officiating. Burial will follow at Webb Cemetery at Bluff Springs. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at High’s, and from noon until the time of service Friday at the church. There will be an Eastern Star service Thursday at 7 p.m. in High’s Parlor.
