Doris Marie Merriman, 74, of McMinnville (Bratcher’s Crossroads community) died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.

She was born June 4, 1947, was a member of Centertown Church of Christ, had worked at Super D and Oster, and was part owner of Diamond Creations jewelry store. Ms. Merriman was preceded in death by parents Lloyd and Margie Smith George.

Survivors include her son Mark (Billie) Merriman of McMinnville, first cousins Dean Rubley, Randal Smith, Carol Phillips, Coletta Hendrix, Janice Marcum, Gary George, Alan George, Connie King, Bobby George, and Brenda Holland, uncle Hulan George, grandchild Austin Barrett, and numerous other cousins and friends.

Graveside service and interment was at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 at Flatwoods Cemetery with Charles Williams officiating. There was no public visitation at McMinnville Funeral Home.
