Morrison resident and Rhea County native Diane Gross, 73, was born Oct. 23, 1950 and died Feb. 24, 2024 at her residence following an extended illness.

A homemaker, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Ruth Janow Sneed. Mrs. Gross was married Dec. 27, 1969 to Stanley Gross who preceded her in death on March 3, 2017. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Lois Bishop, Rosaleen Caraway, Jean Dotson, Earleen Cox, Connie Clayton and brothers, Eunice, Charles, Melvin, Allan and Calvin Sneed.

Mrs. Gross is survived by two daughters, Rhonda (Keith) Sims of Morrison and Brittany Hale (Chad Davis) of McMinnville; two granddaughters, Bailey Krouse (D.J.) of Murfreesboro and Keragan Sims (Dalton Morris) of Morrison; three sisters, Thelma Roberson, Fay Wilkey and Jane (Rex) Dugger all of Dayton, Tenn.; brother, Bobby Sneed (Wanda) of Dayton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28 in High’s Chapel with Keith Sims to officiate. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery in Grundy County. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 27 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
